If the design of your pickguard varies (country of origin, manufactured date, non-Fender manufactured) from that pictured, you may be. While many manufacturers may make a similar model instrument, this does not mean each pickguard of this type is interchangeable. However, mine does not sound as good as my vintage 5D3 tweed Fender Deluxe or tweed Gibson GA-18T Explorer, so I leave it with family for times that I visit back home. Now 181.78 (updated 16 minutes ago): Fender Musicmaster Bass, Electric Basses. This replacement pickguard is made to fit the Fender 1978 Musicmaster Bass. It responds well to HB and single coil pickups and handles most pedals well. Then I remembered I had my wifes old 78 musicmaster in the cupboard.

Ive recently gotten into playing again, my current gigging bass is a little too heavy and is giving me some back issues. Consequently, the MMB is very sensitive to preamp tube swaps and speaker selection. So, you have a pair of 6V6's (like mine) or 6AQ5's and a single 12AX7 preamp tube. There is a simple slider on/off switch, one knob for volume, one for tone. Colours listed are Red, White and Blue (see the 1970 Fender Color chart on page 95. The 1970 Fender price list (4/70) gave the Musicmaster the lowest price of any guitar that year, at 162.50.

A short scale doesn't have as much note separation and definition as a long scale. Its scale length is 30', compared to 34' on a standard long scale bass.
The standard pickup on the Musicmaster was a six-pole Strat pickup. The Mustang was the deluxe short scale model. It has an unusual phase inverter based on a transformer - theoretically superior to any tube PI scheme - and SS rectifier. The Musicmaster Bass amp is a great way to get good tone from an honest vintage Fender tube amp without needing to take out a bank loan. As a product of the '70s (with a brief reissue in 1997 headed by Squier), the Fender Musicmaster Bass is a shorter-scale, stripped-down version of the Fender Mustang Bass. The Musicmaster was Fender's economy short scale bass. I've tried mine with the stock speaker (inefficient, low volume, early breakup), and Eminence Cannabis Rex (maybe too much for the amp, a little stiff in the mids), and an Eminence that is OEM for the TRRI (best balance overall, less volume than the C.Rex, much more than stock). The good news is that you don't really need a tone control in more cases than you'd imagine. I paid a bit expensive (1000EUR) but it is a model of 1971, completely original, in very good condition with an ultra limited color: blue sequin.They are good amps, especially for the price, but suffer from a nearly useless tone control. I've had almost a year, I like the handle, ergonomics and sound. For lovers of vintage sounds, this coupling and enjoyable! I play plugged into a combo markbass cmd121, or, and there is a pure happiness in an amplifier 320 and its Acoustic Acoustic baffle 408.
USA handcrafted quality pickguard produced by WD Music. As stated above, we get a sound close to a PB but with the short scale neck and lightweight which makes it easier to play than its big sister. PICKGUARD for FENDER MUSICMASTER 1978 USA BASS - 3 ply PG White WBW. I mounted flat nets and I use a pop-rock project for which she seems to have been invented. The sound is very similar to a Precision Bass good roots. It is a lightweight and well balanced as well. The neck is perfect, right, fine, very enjoyable to play.
